Freestyle Libre 3 system is a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system that includes a sensor and an app. The sensor is applied painlessly to the back of your upper arm and streams glucose readings automatically to your smartphone so you can know your glucose anytime with a quick glance.
The Freestyle Libre 3 offers a painless and easy-to-apply sensor that doesn’t require fingersticks. It is affordable, with many users paying $0, making it more accessible than other CGMs. The sensor is the world’s smallest, thinnest, and most discreet, providing real-time glucose readings that are proven to be accurate and 5x faster than other CGMs. Optional alarms notify users immediately if glucose levels are too high or too low.
The FreeStyle Libre systems apps work only with certain mobile devices and operating systems. You should check the Support section of their website for compatibility information before using the apps, which may require LibreView registration. When starting a new sensor, there is a 60-minute warm-up period. Fingersticks may be needed if glucose alarms and readings don't match your symptoms or during the first 12 hours if you see the Check Blood Glucose symbol.
